It’s an Oktoberfest of Switch Games
You may have just completed Link’s Awakening and are wondering what to pick up next. We thought we’d take a look at the many many games which will break your wallet in the month coming out on Switch in October.
See below for the huge list of games, many of which are quite big releases which are coming out just this month ALONE.
- Trine 4 (Oct 8) (£40)
- Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (Oct 8) (£30)
- The Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack (15/10) (£40)
- Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition / Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition (15/10) (£40)
- Witcher 3 Wild Hunt – Complete Edition (Oct 15) (£45)
- Overwatch (Oct 15th) (£35)
- Little Town Hero (Oct 16th) (£22.49)
- Cat Quest II: The Lupus Empire (Oct 24th) (Approximately £12-13)
- Disgaea 4 Complete+ (Oct 29th) (£50)
- Resident Evil 5 (Oct 29th) (£30)
- Resident Evil 6 (Oct 29th) (£30)
- Luigi’s Mansion 3 (Oct 31st) (£45)
There are some huge releases in this list, not least two big first-party games in Little Town Hero & Luigi’s Mansion 3. We wish we had a big enough wallet to be able to buy all of them, however, even if you only get one or two of these it’s still going to be a very exciting month.
Old Classics, Ports & Uniques Experiences
We’re very keen to see how Witcher 3 runs on Switch. We already know that to even get it to play the resolution has been pushed down to 540p. This won’t be too much of a problem provided that it runs well.
We’re also very excited to play the original Balders Gate for the first time on console. Dungeon crawling RPG’s are our favourite game genre here at the FrontPage so we can’t wait to dig our teeth into these classic games from Skybound Publishing.
We’d also like to give a special mention to Ring Fit Adventure. It will be a big release for Nintendo Switch, for us, it’s more a fitness experience with game elements rather than a full game. It does, however, add to a very busy month on Nintendo Switch in October.
This isn’t, of course, an exhaustive list, these are just the biggest games in our opinion. October is going to be such a fantastic month for Nintendo Switch. In just one month, in this shortlist, it does show that there is something for everyone on this console.
Incidentally, if you are looking for a complete list of all the games coming out in October and beyond we went here.
As a point of interest if you were to buy all of the games in the above list it would cost you over £420! For that money, you could buy two Switch Lite’s. I think I’d rather have the games, however.
